"Chet" Baker (1929 - 1988) foi um trompetista e vocalista de jazz norte-americano. Ficou conhecido por grandes inovações no cool jazz que lhe renderam o apelido de "Príncipe do Cool".
Em 1983, o cantor britânico Elvis Costello, um fã de longa data de Baker, contratou o trompetista para tocar um solo na sua música "Shipbuilding" para o álbum Punch the Clock. A música expôs a música de Baker a um novo público. Mais tarde, Baker frequentemente incluía a música de Costello "Almost Blue" (por sua vez, inspirada na versão de Baker de "The Thrill Is Gone") nos seus shows.
